Anna and Jamie are a young, super fun and outgoing couple and boy did their glamping wedding reflect this! Set in a secluded area of rural Northumberland, they hosted a luxurious marquee wedding with guests glamping on site!
Anna has a strong sense of style and chose a Calvin Klein wedding dress for her big day. Immediately after the ceremony she casts off her colourful shoes in favour of a pair of white trainers (all the better to dance in). Her bridesmaids wore dresses that tied in with the fern theme. I adore this image above showing the backdrop for such an incredible wedding day with the stunning landscape in the distance. The brief Anna gave her wedding planner, Katie Crichton-Stuart from Albion Parties, was to create a beautiful and stylish wedding, balancing being conventional in some aspects with being entirely relaxed in other aspects. With a keen eye for detail, Katie worked with Anna to develop a theme incorporating pink tones with dark green ferns and a touch of gold. Anna’s mood board for the look of the wedding, which Katie helped her put together, focused on beautiful fabrics of fern motifs, which was a year before this trend became mainstream when it was seen at House of Hackney and Graham and Green. A strong family feel came through the glamping wedding. Anna chose her younger sisters and brothers to be bridesmaids and pageboys. Personal touches in the ceremony saw Anna’s friend playing the piano, and her uncle officiating at the ceremony. The highly stylized tent interior focused on clean lines, with pink flowers in the center of the tables surrounded by more whimsical ferns pouring out from underneath. High and low arrangements gave texture to the overall look of the dinner set up, and intermittent plants positioned up the tent poles created a sense of scale inside. Sperry tents have the fortunate appeal of looking good from the outside as much as the inside. They also appealed to Annas love for something slightly different.
I read a really helpful article recently on Rock My Wedding which is a visual walk through the various marquee types available – a must read if you’re considering! Know your Stretch from your Tipis! Most noteworthy is Albion Parties attention to detail. I adored these escort cards – would you consider something like this over a table plan? The grounds were stunning and provided me with so many options for the bridal portraits. The wild flower meadow was dreamy, and the woodland provided open shade – perfect for photos! Having a great band was really important to Anna and Jamie. They chose The Faithettes, the backing band of Paloma Faith, followed by friends who DJ’ed late into the night. For this glamping wedding, Anna & Jamie gave all guests the option of staying in bell tents pitched in the next door field! Albion Parites put “Hangover Packs” filled with essentials for guests, a fabulous touch. A glamping wedding of course requires a hearty breakfast the next morning. Guests were treated to James Davie’s brunch of bacon rolls, eggs to order, mini pastries, suckling pig with apple sauce. Along with the hearty breakfast, all guests are handed large Bloody Marys to help tackle the hangovers!

It’s always so lovely to see my work in print. Wedding Venues & Fashion have now featured this wedding too! If you’re on the venue hunt then this is the perfect magazine for you – packed with inspiration and hidden gems.
Save The Date magazine halted this issue going to print until they’d added Anna & Jamie’s wedding! Praise indeed! Not only that, but they have also used one of the images of the PapaKata tent on the cover! Pinch me.
