A swoon-worthy Suzanne Neville ‘Belle’ dress was the one for Tara. The fishtail cut was just sensational and with the button detail all the way down the back to the top of her thighs and a high neck it really was beautiful.
Tara wore Sophia Websters Evangeline heels in white and rose gold – wowah! As she says, ‘not your ‘classic’ bridal shoe but with every decision I made I thought – there are no rules.’
Tara says, ‘It wasn’t a conscious decision but looking back, I love the fact I wore all British designers, particularly as our venue could not be more quintessentially British!’
Taras bridesmaids wore the Twobirds dress in rosewater. With one of her maids living in Australia it was the perfect choice as they needed little to no tailoring and with their various tieing options, there really is something to flatter every figure.
Tara teamed her Suzanne Neville gown with a Joyce Jackson cathedral length veil with a lace trim.
Choosing Aynhoe Park as the setting of the day, Tara and James incorporated soft pinks and golds throughout to create a timeless look.
I know I always shouting about Aynhoe Park from the rooftops however it’s lovely to hear what clinched it for Tara and James.
They had 3 criteria when venue hunting and Aynhoe Park ticked all three boxes:
No late night curfew (we wanted to dance until 3am not midnight)
Exclusive use over 2 days (we wanted a rehearsal BBQ the night before)
No dodgy carpets!
‘On visiting Aynhoe, The orangery gave us a feeling of grandeur with its white walls & high ceilings which was important to us for the ceremony as we knew we weren’t getting married in a church.
The deer in the fields, the cellar night club, the bedrooms (only those that have stayed will appreciate just how amazing the bedrooms are), the outdoor space…honestly the list goes on of why this is the perfect venue. ‘
Sweetpea of Great Tew created stunning florals throughout using peonies, roses & hydrangeas. A chuppah frame was cleverly used instead of a floral arch to add a focal point for the ceremony.
The Kitchen at Aynhoe provided the food throughout Tara and James’ stay and they were delighted.
Their wedding cake was a real feature, taking centre stage in the entrance hall, a 5 tiered white cake decorated with real flowers. I’m always intrigued as to what flavours couples choose! – they had a mix of fruit cake, Victoria sponge & red velvet. Yum!
Bridal styling tip: Pick three words and stick by them to avoid mixing styles. Taras were glamourous, timeless & elegant.
In the evening, Six15 transformed the orangery providing the sound and production, setting the stage for the evening. Brother from Another were the band who created a great vibe early doors and then DJ, Carlton Delingo took over for the after party.
Brides tip: Do your research, create a list, budget against the list & use it to track what you have & haven’t done, keep talking to each other. Once you’ve got some clear ideas on what you both want, make decisions & crucially, pick very good suppliers. Good suppliers are invaluable.
